I went to life drawing on Saturday. My charcoal sketches were not working out so I tried a watercolor pencil drawing in my sketchbook. This was a 50 minute pose. There was 10 minutes to go and I had only shaded the face and upper chest so the rest of the body was shaded in a mad rush. The poses are never long enough at life drawing. I read in a Singer Sargent book that he had a model sit 83 times for the one painting.
